Jennie Olson Cole:  

Life I was dating my husband, Steve Cole, during my senior year. I met him the summer of '72. I thought he was a Lakewood boy but soon found out that he had only moved to Lakewood for his Junior and Senior year of high school. I actually went to school with his younger brother Jeff Cole. They were only a year apart but I did not remember Steve. I am so glad that we did not meet at Fleming Jr. High. I was tall and skinny and Steve was short and plump. We married in 1974. We had our first child, Jeramy, in February of 1975. We had our daughter, Karah, in 1979. During that time I worked as a data entry operator and also took modern jazz at a dance studio. We lived in Huntington Beach for the first ten years of our marriage. I went to Goldenwest College when my daughter was a pre-schooler. Soon after that we moved back to Harbor City and bought the house I grew up in. It is right across the street from Harbor City Elementary. We are working on our third addition. Steve is a contractor. I was recently laid off from ADP. I worked there for 23 years and was technical support for the payroll client service department. After we moved back to Harbor City my husband and I got into running. I have ran around 50 marathons. True marathons are 26.2 miles. I qualifed for Boston and ran that in 1996.
