Life
My Job
I design electronics for space-borne applications. I have designs up in the Hubble Space Telescope currently. The Deep Impact program that I worked on was a smashing success on July 4th, 2005, when the Impactor slammed into Comet Tempel 1 and provided amazing close-up images of the surface right up until impact!. The HiRISE camera that I worked on which is part of the Mars Reconnaisance Orbiter spacecraft was successfully launched on August 2005, and is now successfully in orbit around Mars taking some of the most amazing photographs ever seen.
I'm currently working on the Kepler program, which is a spacecraft in Earth-trailing solar orbit, launched in March 2009. This spacecraft will stare at a patch of the sky for at least 4 years, looking for the minute changes in brightness of over 100,000 stars, trying to "catch" when an Earth-sized planet passes in front of a star. or Earth-sized planets in orbit around Sun-like stars, to help determine the number of potential extra-solar planets that "could" harbor life in the universe.
My Love Life
I'm about to get married again to a girl named Linda after being divorced for 10 years. We're getting married down in Mexico.
My Kids
Son Jesse, graduated with a degree in Software Engineering, worked for a while at a Lidar mapping company and is now working for NOAA as an Associate Scientist.
Daughter Lauren studied Journalism at the University of Colorado at Boulder, but has changed her focus to counseling and possibly law. She graduated in May 2007 with Special Honors. She got involved in political issues during the last campaign, and may pursue that field in the future. She's currently thinking about going after a Master's degree.
My Pets
Sweet, energetic and smart Sheltie named Roxie. I've got a fishtank with a bunch of pretty fish.
