Richard's Story
Life
Well I have been busy...been in the Army since HS so I retired Feb 05' to Euless, Texas. I am divorced ah..twice. What can I say, third time is a charm right? I have 3 kids living in Georgia with the 1st Ex. My son the oldest is in the army as a Combat Medic and working to become a Ranger.
Now I am single and looking, but I am in no hurry. I completed a BA in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University and an MBA with University of Phoenix. I am proud of what I have accomplished, very much. I have recently moved from Texas to San Diego for a much better position and now I believe a much better view. Now, I am a business manager for Corrections Corporation of America. This new career is challenging in a different way than the Army, but pays much better.

weekends and skipping terms for deployments and training. Just completed my MBA with University of Phoenix and need a break.
Workplace
Wow retirement is a new world. For fun I applied and recieved my Commission as a Notary Public in Texas. For some real money I tried my hand at Insurance, not for me, insurance sucks! movin on...trying different things is fun. I did a temp job scoring student papers for the Texas Taks Tests, it got me off my butt. They were very interesting and fun to read. I have been teaching vocational skills to offenders in the Dallas State Jail up until Jan 6, 2007 and moved to San Diego for a much better job at the San Diego Correctional Facility as business manager. Back in a day I never thought much of college, but I can say it has been very beneficial for me and to my wallet. Even taken up golf...yikes never thought I'd say that let alone do it.
Military
RETIREMENT: I just completed 20 years 31 Jan 05. Moved to Texas in Nov 04. I have been in a long time through the good and bad. Alot of ups and downs for me, but worth the ride. I learned alot about myself and life. I look forward to a new career. I wish more young soldiers would continue there education through the military and prepare for a career after the military. I waited till the end but I did it, it was hard but worth it.
