Kathy's Story

Life Joined Air Force 1975, met my husband, got married, lived in Texas, Germany, New York, and finally back to Texas. Medically discharged from the AF in 1985. Started doing archeology work same year. Still at it, my husband is the Chief Archeologist at a National Park in Texas, I'm an Archeological Volunteer and have worked at over 20 projects in the U.S as well as Mexico. I am co-author with my husband on a recently discovered Indian pictograph site (rock art) in Mexico. At 40 went back to college, degree in Liberal Arts. Travel extensively throughout the Southwest,USA. Recently volunteering my time to educate the children in our area on the prehistoric cultures in west Texas and Mexico. Loving life and having a "go...Expand for more
od-ole" time in Texas. Getting ready to celebrate 25 wonderful years with my husband and NO KIDS.... Adios Amigos!! School Ah, the memories after 30 years are vivid, yet blurred. Washington Jr.High: smoking at the fence (if we only knew),skipping class and getting caught, running around with Kim Shriner (anyone know her whereabouts), Kathy Romine, Ginny Lipscomb, Barb Leisure, etc. Then off to PHS, just about the same as WJHS but only older. The cultural craze we all got caught up in: HIPPIES*MAKE LOVE*NOT WAR--Funny isn't it, it is just as true today as then, FLOWER CHILDREN NEVER DIE, WE JUST WILT AWAY.... Note by her husband Joe Labadie: Kathy passed away on December 23, 2012; one day after her 57th birthday.
