Joyce's Story

Hi everyone! retired now! I enjoy traveling, reading, sweepstaking, family get togethers, attending a few UK college basketball games and Nashville Titans games now and then. I have one son, Jay who lives in KY also. I have 4 grand-children. Life is busy and fun. I hope to exchange email with old childhood friends. It is fun finding out what they have been doing. I live in Kentucky. My older brother Robert lives in Cullman, so I still get to visit Alabama occaionally to visit him and his family. My younger brother, Steve lives in California, so I visit there as well. I enjoy contacting old classmates and friends. Your youth is such a special time of promise and possibilities. It is interesting to see whether we achieved our goals, got side-tracked, or changed directions in our lives. I have heard from a few old classmates and love being updated on where their paths have led during the years since school. I usually share info with my older brother, Robert. He remembers a lot of the same people. So e-mail me if you remember me at all. Hope to hear from all my old classmates soon, especially all the ones who attended North Birmingham Elementary. They tell me North Birmingham is very, very different now. I attended Phillips High School and wonder if it is still there. Sometimes in the course of my former job, I would talk with people who live in Birmingham. They tell me it is a progressive town and they really like it there. I hope to learn of a school reunion for Phillips or North Birmingham elementary. A visit there would be delightful. Hope to hear from old friends soon. Joyce Middleton Gregory. in 2006 Since then, I have gone through the Big "C" surgeries, chemo, radiation, bald, etc but now I have hair again and am doing just great. One thing I did in 2007 was to fulfill a longtime desire to visit Paris and the trip was glorious. I was there 11 days and would do it again in a heartbeat. WINTER 2010 My brother Robert passed away in July 2009. I did attend the Phillips High Reunion last year. Saw a few people that I remember. It is wintertime here in KY Everyone is getting ready for the Christmas season. It is always a fun time of year. Good wishes to all my former classmates. Be of good cheer and "have a happy heart" (as my grandmother used to remind me) October 2012 It has been a busy year for me. My Mom (91 yrs) moved to CA to live with my brother Steve in Shingle Springs. My husband, Ferrell and I live in a rural area on a farm surrounded by acres of crops and a lovely country view. We have a lot of time now to visit, travel and enjoy life. Visited London and Paris again last year and enjoyed the sightseeing. My favorite place to visit is still a tropical beach. I think that is true of so many people. Still living with stage 4 cancer, but have a rather good quality of life. Just have to take the meds and do the check ups and hang in there. Otherwise, I am in pretty good physical shape. Many of my peers are struggling with knee replacements, arthritis, etc, so I am blessed. Hope all the ones I remember from school are well and happy with your life. I remember so many of you. How young and full of life and hope we were. We have seen a lot of change during our lifetimes. Best wishes to all of you
