Anne's Story
Life
I have been married to Bud Black since 1963. We have two sons, both of them are lawyers. We also have 3 grandchildren, a boy born in 2000 and a girl born in January, 2002. We have a new granddaughter born on June 6, 2019.
I retired from high school teaching in May, 2003. I have enjoyed being with my grandchildren and being able to travel some.
My favorite teacher in high school was Mr. Dan Boone. He was what a teacher is supposed to be. My favorite memory is the the A. L. Brown band. We always went to the Shrine Bowl game, and we were the best around.
We sold our house which we have been in for 3...Expand for more
8 years...Now we are building a nice "empty-nest." We will be in it by fall of 2012. Very exciting time for us,,,,life goes on. We are blessed in that Bud had kidney cancer isurgery in Jan, 12,, but the doctor removed the kidney as well as all of the cancer,,,,it did not spread...We are grateful...and we are hoping to travel more when the house is done.
A new chapter in our lives: Bud has taken classes for being a Certified Lay Minister in the Methodist Church. We have served 3 churches in our area as interim pastor. I took classes as a Lay Speaker. We have been blessed and have met so many wonderful people.
