Carol's Story
Life
My family moved from Marion Franklin's boundaries at the end of the 11th grade, so I didn't graduate with you all, but I went to school with the same kids from the first grade at Fornof Elementary. I didn't like South High School and didn't know anyone, so I quit and was married in January 1959. We had our first child in Dec. of 1962, a girl, Paula, who graduated from Marion Franklin in 1981. In 1964 we had a boy, Ernie, he also went to Marion. He quit also, so in 1992 we both got our GED's here in Arizona. We lived in and around Columbus while our children were growing up. e other 9 months are wonderful. My husband will retire the end of June, 2006, I work part time helping elderly people in their homes, with anything they need done. We get back to Columbus almost every year and I see some of the ones I went to school with. I have gone to several school reunions and hope to see many more of you when we are back there.
School
We moved to South High St. when I was in the first grade and started Fornof Elementary School. Continued on to Marion Franklin in the 7th grade thru the 11th. Moved to South High School district and I quit school after a few months. My best friend at Marion was June Dutko, we still stay in touch over the computer, also Jenny Jordan and Sonya Neff. Those were wonderful years and I miss them.
