Sharon's Story

In February 1965 I married the love of my life,Don Gragg(best friend & soul mate),and began the life I'd always dreamed of. I never wanted a career. I just wanted to be the best wife, mother, grandmother and God willing, a great-grandmother someday(of course I think I already am). I started working (outside the home) when my daughter, Gena, was in high school and my son, Gene, was in junior high. I worked off and on until 2005 and decided I'd rather spend more time with my grandkids,so I retired. Now I can see them whenever I want to, not just on weekends or holidays. Our youngest grandson,Aiden Parker Bogle,is the center of our universe right now. Born May 2007, he became our 7th grandchild. It had been 7 years since we'd had a baby in the family and didn't expect to have anymore but Aiden decided to surprise us and it was the best surprise we could have received. Everyone in the family is crazy about him so he'll probably be rotten but right now...he's perfect and we adore him. Aiden's dad,Bret(good guy),and his son,Josh(hunk),joined Gena(gorgious) and her children,Cameron(strong silent type),Alec(the playah) & Madison(the beauty) in marriage in July of 2005 following the death of Gena's 1st husband and father of her 3 children in 2004. Gene(tall&handsome) and his wife Tammy(tall and lovely) gave birth to 2 beautiful girls,Paige(at 14 just discovered boys) & Macy age 9(discovered boys at the age of 5),who are the light of their daddy's eyes and mine too, of course. Don and I go to every activity that the grandkids have including Baseball,Softball,Soccer,Basketball,Swimming,Wrestling to Band(we have 3 of them in band). It was 4 but Cameron had to give it up for his job. He's a junior in high school ...Expand for more
& just got his b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l class ring. I hope he takes good care of it. I lost mine and Don lost his. We'd give anything to get them back but I doubt that will ever happen. I did find a class ring that belonged to a boy from Muskogee High. I was going to work and saw something shiny in the street so I stopped and scooped it up. I knew immediately I was soon going to make that young man very happy. I called the High School and told my story to the secretary. She was very happy that the young man was getting his lost ring back and she sent him down to the office where I worked to pick it up. The look on his face when I handed him that ring was priceless. He then got somber and asked me if I saw anything else in the same area. I said no and he said his ring was in his girlfriends purse and the purse had been stolen just the night before. I went back to the place I found the ring and looked around the whole area but I didn't find any trace of her purse or contents, so it was happy ending for him but an unhappy ending for his girl. Right at the present time, I'm sitting here doing this cause I am just barely beginning to recover from a horrible bout of pneumonia. After 3 weeks in bed doing nothing but coughing my guts out, and bouncing back and forth from burning up to freezing, I felt like getting back to my "Lit'l Friend" and one thing led to another and I wound up here. But I'm tired now so I'm gonna go do what my Doctor said to: Lots of REST, lots of FLUIDS, "NO Strenuous Activities" (cooking, cleaning, washing, drying, sorting or putting away) too strenuous for me!! Ok, I might get away with it for another week but then Don's gonna catch on and the jig is up. I'll be back soon! You can count on it!!!!
