Irene's Story
Life
In 2001, our daughter Lisa was married. She is a teacher, who is married to a teacher. They also live in Saskatoon. Kate Olivia was born on July 29, 2005. Our daughter Erin was married on July 8, 2006, and she and her husband are expecting a baby on May 13, 2007, which happens to be Mother's Day. Erin's husband was an EMT, but has returned to the University of Saskatchewan to pursue a new career in Education. Erin is now on maternity leave from her position as a pediatric nurse at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. Additional grandchildren have been added to the family. Lisa and Brett had a boy ,Senan, born February, 2008 - a brother for Kate. Erin and Kyle had a son, Owen, born on June 7, 2010 - a brother for Maya. Kyle graduated from the College of Education in June of 2010. He is teaching English at Tommy Douglas High School. He also coaches basketball and football. My husband and I are very fortunate to have our daughters and grandchildren so close. Life is great!

r which time I went to London,Ontario, to teach. After a year, I returned to Calgary and resumed teaching for the Cagary Catholic School Board. In 1974, my husband's transfer brought us to Saskatoon. My career here started in 1975 and paused for maternity reasons from 1976 until 1981. Since then, I have taught at 3 schools until my retirement last June, 2002. Teaching was a very rewarding career as I think of the number of students I have had an opportunity to influence. They also taught me some very valuable lessons. No 2 days were ever the same. I am very grateful to the supportive parents whose children I taught. It is time now to travel, relax, and spend more time with my husband, family and friends. In December, 2010, 20 family and in-law members spent a memorable Christmas in Kihei, Maui. It was a once in a lifetime vacation that provided alot of fun, rest and great memories for all of us. UPDATE 2011: If you receive the Air Miles "Inspired Living" Gold Collectors magazine, Fall 2011 edition, you can see some of pictures I took, as well as an account of our visit to Hawaii. Christmas 2011 will be spent at our daughter Lisa's home in Saskatoon with the rest of our family members.
