Ronald's Story

Life Hi everyone! My wife Cindy and I retired in January 2006 and are loving it!!! I worked for the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CDF) for 31 years and Cindy worked for the Department of Water Resources (DWR) for 28 years (both are State of California Agency's). Cindy and I celebrated our 37th anniversary this year (2006)! We have two great children, our son Ron Jr (then, age 26) graduated from UNLV, however, he died suddenly on June 2, 2002 of an un-diagnosed illness, we all miss him dearly. Our daughter Kim (now age 27) graduated from CSUS with a BA in Theater Arts. She has performed in many plays both in college and professionally. She is now working for the State and planning her move into the theatrical arena, be it movies, TV, or stage (really her preference!). We have ...Expand for more
lived in the Sacramento area for the last 31 years, with most of my family still living in So Cal. My mom passed away in February of this year (2006), my dad preceeded her in 1999. In 2002 we met and became friends with Nokie Edwards and his wife Judy. Nokie is an awesome guitarist that still plays for the Ventures on occasion, tours with them here and in Japan and also tours on his own here and in Japan. We visit them from time to time up in Oregon, and also travel to see him perform. He started a new guitar company called HitchHiker Guitars. I ordered one and am awaiting it's arrival. He said once it is ready I can come up to Oregon and get it (they are mostly handmade), so that he can teach me to play, finger-picking style like he does. Would love to hear from any of the class of '67.
