Anne's Story
Life
After high school graduation, I went to work for the Bell System. I worked my way through the University of Pittsburgh, earning degrees in English and psychology. When I reached 30 years with Bell Atlantic, I retired and went to Seminary. I graduated from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in 2003 with a Master of Divinity degree. I have launched a new ministry, Spirit Care Ministries, Inc. to serve victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.I am trained as a family violence and sexual assault counselor. I returned to school in 2008, to Duquesne University's Counselor Ed. program. I graduated with a second master's degree, an MS Ed. in counseling in 2011. I am now doing counseling at a domestic violence crisis center.
I am widowed. I was married to Russ Keller, a fellow Bell Telephone manager. Russ passed away in April, 2012. He was my best friend and my soulmate for 27 wonderful years. I am step-grandmother to 4 fabulous you...Expand for more
ng people and various cats, dogs and other quadrapeds. My husband's granddaughter, Katie Keller Ellis, gave birth to a baby girl in June, 2014, so I am now a very young great grandmother to Emma.
I have travelled extensively throughout the the US, Canada, the Caribbean, and Western Europe. Paris is my favorite city in the world, but, for as many times as I have gone, I always come home to Pittsburgh.
In July, 2017, I was ordained a Deacon by the Association of Roman Catholic WomenPriests. I plan to be ordained a priest in 2018. I am continuing to counsel survivors of domestic violence.
In December 2017, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I have completed chemo and surgery, and will do radiation. The tumor is gone. What happens now remains to be seen, but I am determined to beat this sucker. It goes without saying that my priestly ordination in the Association of Roman Catholic WomenPriests will not happen in 2018. Next year.
