(9/29/10) **Notice to CHS Class of '81 ... We're having our 30 YEAR REUNION in the summer of 2011! Let us know if you're interested in helping out. A date will be set as soon as a committee is formed to decide on one. Let's get the party started, Classmates!! polly 85 at charter . net
(2007) Life's been really good since CHS. That 'Now' picture of me was taken around 2003, I think... so not exactly 'Now'. ;) I graduated Carson High (CA) in 1981. I spent the first semester of my Senior year going to Highland High in Idaho w/my cousin. I came home to LA to play Varsity softball because they didn't have a girls' team at Highland (although I was very tempted to try out for the guy's baseball team, but was a little too shy. I would have kicked butt though! LOL), plus, I wanted to graduate with my friends in LA and hit the beach again. :)
After school, I worked at some cool places and had a great time hanging out and going dancing with my friends. Then I met and married my husband (ironically, from Idaho!) in 1985 and we now have 5 fab kids-- 3 will be in the same HS next year (Fall 2007). We lived in Pismo Beach, CA (central coast) for about 13 years; Pleasant Grove, UT for six years; and now call NorCal our home. I went to work right a...Expand for more
fter HS--worked at some fun places-- up until I had my first baby in 1990. Now I do things with and for all of them-- it's a lot of fun, a lot of work (lots of patience!), and they're really great kids! I do lots of volunteer work at their schools, some coaching (what else ... softball and volleyball), and all that, plus self-employment at home (only when I feel like it. Ha!) We love to travel when we can, and lately I've gotten into long-distance running. Crazy! I trained (well, semi-trained) for and ran my first half marathon in San Francisco last December in an attempt to get back in shape, and just did a trail 10K in Napa (gorgeous ... and easier than a half marathon!!). As a teen, I was always a sprinter and long-jumper in track meets, so this is a whole new world and I absolutely love it!! My family and I just hiked the Grand Tetons this summer (12,000 feet). Magnificent!! I met my husband in Shelley, Idaho in 1985. He is an Engineer here in the Silicon Valley, and also a master carpenter as a hobby (used to be his profession). He's a really GREAT guy!!
Our oldest daughter does Varsity volleyball (setter) and is a senior; our 2nd daughter is percussion queen in band and loves art (great cartoonist) and is a Jr.; our 14 y/o son is now into track and is ver-r-ry fast and does high jump and long jump (Freshman); our 12 y/o daughter is getting into drama this year (7th); and our 9 year old son loves tennis, golf, and track (4th). We just try to enjoy life as it comes our way and go with the flow so we don't go too nuts. :p It's been pretty fun to look through everyone else's profiles in here, and any of my old friends who happen to read this, feel free to email me and say hello. I really love that! :)
