Life I went to school in New York (as far from home as possible--Freud was right) but have lived in California since graduation. My husband, Doug, was a fraternity brother of my youngest brother and we have lived where his career led us, which was never far from the Bay Area. We moved to Hollister in 1981, which appealed to us at the time cuz it had the feel of a little, old California valley town. Unfortunately it has become more of a bedroom community since Silicon Valley became too expensive for most folks. We still love it anyway, and are "dug in" here. Our three kids are successfully launched: no grandkids, but all three are squared away (a term our son learned in the Army--he is safely home from Kuwait, discharged 10/22/03).
