Mary's Story

Life I graduated from 8th grade at Bleakwood, then spent 3 years at Newton High, and graduated from Hemphill in 1973 after my parents built near the lake. And by the way, if someone can help me edit my school info...HELP..I went to Newton 69-72-it won't allow me to edit the years.grrr. I married 2 weeks after graduation. Sixteen years and 2 children later we divorced. A brief 2nd marriage - and I've never remarried. Just haven't met the right guy. My children: during my 2nd marriage my son Paul was diagnosed with cancer and he passed away at 17. Shortly afterwards my daughter Ginger and I moved to Jasper. She graduated HS in 1997, then from SFA. She and my son-in-law Jason (also from Jasper) live and work in Nacogdoches. My first grandbaby, Kaylee Elise, was born May 27th,2008 and she is the light of my life...just recently found out that I"m going to be a Nana again!. Love it!! 6+ at Newton Middle School when my kids were younger) I got my real estate license and sold beach houses for a while. Then around 1999 after a brief return to Jasper I relocated to Lufkin where I worked for TxDOT as a right of way agent. In March 07 I relocated to Fort Worth. I absolutely love it here. I've made some really great friends, attend a wonderful cowboy church and finally bought a house this past fall. I travel to Nac as often as possible to spend time with my grandbaby (and her mom and dad), and try to get down to Newton and Jasper to visit the rest of my family whenever I can. Added...I was able to go on my first cruise this April. Had a blast and hope to go again some day. I've been blessed with good health, a wonderful family, and super friends. I've adjusted over the years to singlehood but I also think it would be wonderful to meet my true soulmate and best friend at some point and time...at least before I'm too old to enjoy life with him.
