Charlotte's Story

Life Life well-lived is a wonderful life indeed! I have a great many blessings: Great husband, 2 fine sons, JJ and Travis, three grandsons, Matthew, Blake, and Alexander James (AJ), a job I love and good health. 2007 brought a big surprise, 12/6/ 2007. I went for a stress test because of some little "spells" when I engaged in physical activity. Hmmph. I had a spell on the treadmill and the next thing I know, they are putting me in the emergency room with a crash cart. Mercy! Had a triple bypass on 12/11/2007. 2010-2011--retired from Currituck County Schools. Now I work for Newport News Public Schools. So enjoying this experience. llege off and on since 1973. I have a BS, MS, and CAS from Old Dominion University, and I finished my Doctorate in Education at the College of William and Mary in 2006. Workplace I have the best job in the world. Currently, I am a Supervisor of Special Education in Newport News, Virginia. Prior to coming to Newport News, I worked for Virginia Beach Schools for over 10 years as a special education coordinator in the central office and the Director of Special Education in Currituck County. Prior to coming back to teaching, I held a myriad of positions with 7-Eleven Stores. Frankly each of those experiences along with my educational journey prepared me for my directorship in Currituck and as a supervisor for special education in Newport News. I truly enjoy my job and the people with whom I work.
