Shirley's Story
I am married to Terrel Breland and we live in the Janice Community. I have a daughter, Season Johnson, who is now 22 years old. Season still lives at home with us, just the way I want it. I also have a step-daughter, Ashley Jackson, who is 30 years old. She is married to Chris who is a helicopter mechanic for the U.S. Coast Guard, which is why they live in New Orleans,LA. They have two kids, Austin who is 41/2 & Ava who is 2 years old. So, I'm a granny!! and loving it!! Terrel worked for MDOT, but now is disabled due to a work related accident. I work for Atmospheric Research & Analysis where I am the site operator. I have worked there for 12 years. I am also the club leader for our 4-H club, Perry County Pride. I love 4-H and will be a volunteer as long as I am able, so far it's been 13 years. I like to take photos and making scrapbooks. I also like to crochet and make jewelry. Max- a gray kitty with white on his feet and chest, and Tripp and Troy -our two Border Collies. I was a Volunteer Firefighter & First Responder with the Janice Fire Dept. for 11 years, but have given it up. It got to where I was never available when there was a 911 call and I didn't have the time to keep my certification up to date, so I just let it go. There is always something to keep me busy between home and work. I am a member of Janice Baptist Church. I love the people there, they are just good down to earth people and they make you feel welcome from the first time that you come through the door. If you have not seen me over the last several years you will not know that once I start talking it is hard for me to quit. I always say that I'm making up for lost time. I always wanted to talk to people but I was just scared to, NOT anymore. So, if you see me you better have some duct tape to put over my mouth or just have time to talk. So, put your story on classmates just in case I don't get to see ya!
