Jeffrey's Story

Just pulled the plug on work. Here's how I got there. Got married in 1968 to Annmary Driscoll from Holyoke. Got drafted a month later and spent 2 years dogging Vietnam. Had a son, Travis and returned to South Hadley area. Built a house in Feeding Hills, and lived there for several years. The mariage didn't work. Met up with a circle track racer at Riverside Park (remember, I always liked working on cars). We built a car to go racing in the IMSA series and I got hired by CAR & DRIVER Magazine and moved to New York City for the job. Met Judy. We're still happily married after 32 years and live in Bronxville New York. Our child, Lesley is 21. Car & Driver magazine moved to Michagin without me (Judy, a teacher, was a better deal) and after several deadend jobs she suggested that I teach for a year and spend the first summer vacation looking for a good job. nx in 1984 and never looked for another job. Earned a Masters in Eductaion and became the director of the auto school of 500 students in 1991. I built it into a program that has earned national recognition for the past 5 years. Judy and I have sailed for the past 20 years but last summer bought a 38' Tug. This live aboard trawler will carry us to New England or Annapolis this summer in preperation for a year long trip known as the "loop", New York thru the Great Lakes, down the Missippippi to the Gulf and then back up the InterCoastal waterway to New York and home. Judy retired from teaching a few years ago and I retired a few weeks ago. I'm using AOL and am known as jtblock. I missed the 40th reunion but will make it in 2014 for the 50th. LIFE IS GOOD! Update 4/1/2014. Bought a bigger boat, a 46' tug, decided against the loop, I'm on google now at jtblock888. Retirement is wonderful. LIFE IS GOOD
