Life In 2001, retired from 38 years of teaching in the Chula Vista City School District, and though I loved teaching, retirement is even better! A year after retiring, I also sold my state licensed day care center, a business which I built and operated sucessfully for more than 25 years in Bonita, California. Being "out of work" for the first time in my life since I was 8 years old finally freed me up to travel and pursue my artistic interests. I have 3 children, 8 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. We are all very close and spend lots of time together. I also greatly enjoy movies, tv, playing all kinds of games, listening to music, photography, travel, being in my garden, making jewlery, sculptures, and collages, reading, being out in nature, being with my friends, learning new things on my computer, and living in San Diego. I am a professional watercolor artist, and you can see samples of my work on Facebook. Since retiring I have been to Asia four times to tour and visit my son and his family. He works in Hong Kong for Barclay's as a computer software engineer, but he has also lived and worked in Tokyo. (He speaks Japanese!)
