Audrea's Story
Life
I grew up in Pell City, AL, about 30 miles east of Birmingham, AL. I attended and graduated in 1993 from the Pell City school system. I met my husband one month after graduating and in 1994 gave birth to our daughter, Maegan Gayle Golden. We spent a couple of months in Leeds, then purchased the home I grew up in P.C. from my parents and lived there almost 8 more years. In 1999, I gave birth to twin girls, Mallory Ann and Marissa Lynette. In 2002, my husband, Carl Golden, and I moved to Richmond, Va. We attend the Chester church of Christ and are enjoying our new friends, new home, new jobs and our wonderful family. I miss everyone in Pell City. We visit often, so if you'd like to catch up on one of my visits, feel free to contact me anytime!
Workplace
I started some college and found a job in Word Processing with McGriff, Seibels & Williams (Insurance Brokers) in Birmingham. After a couple of years of great training there, I moved on to work at Samford University. The 45 minute drive was just too much so after a few months I decided to find something closer to home. My next job took me to Go...Expand for more
odgame Welding Company (Secretary/Executive Assistant) and I worked a 1 1/2 years before having my twins, 18 months later, I went back to work for them for another 1 1/2 years, loving it! Then, my husband got a promotion and we moved to Richmond, VA. I managed my home and kids for 8 months, then I got tired of the commute (ha ha). I worked for MedSource, Inc. as Administrative Assistant. MedSource is a Site Management Organization for Clinical Research Trials. I was promoted to Office Administrator, but I was not happy with the company benefits. So, in Sept. 2003, I got an opportunity to go to work for Highwoods Properties, a large real estate developement company as an Admin. Assist in Accounting and Development. The company has a tremendous amount to offer me as an employee and I am proud to be a part of their team.
As of Sept. 2004, I am still a part of the Highwoods team although my main focus is now with the Accounting Department! I still love it (and yes, I too hated math in High School)! I'm about to get my taste of what it's like to work with a $15 million development project and am very excited!
