Sherry's Story
Life
Well, here it is 35 years and I am still in N.C. I am no longer in daycare. I retired from that 25 yrs ago, I am now a full time Nanny. It has been 35 years and I never could or did have children. I was with the same company for 25 yrs till they shut down 16 ago.I got out of daycare after 25 yrs but children are my life and with not being able to ever have any children, I decided it was what I wanted to do with my life. It has been a very rough few years for me but I am recovering good now, in 2002 I found out I was diabetic and then in 2004 I had a heart attack so to be here today I am very thankful though it has been a tough time but I have made it. I have lost a total of over 250 pounds since 2002, so that in itself is a big step, but with the help and support of my family I have made it with my life..In October of 2008 I had to have a full hysterectomy and with the love and help of my loving family I have made it through it. I hope to reconnect with all the people I went to school back in Mass. and keep in touch with them new and old......
School
I went to school at Plymouth Carver Intermediate from 1978-1982 and Silver Lake Regional High from 1982-1986 and graduated from S.L.R.H in 1986,and moved to North Carolina in 1987 ,and have lived here for 33 yrs. My favorite teachers were at P.C.I.S. and they were Mrs. Simone my English teacher, and Mr.Hardy my math...Expand for more
teacher and I had Mrs. Madru as a tutor. All of you remember me as dating Micheal Hunt and most of you all gave me heck about that.
Workplace
Well I was at the same daycare for 25years till it shut down in Aug of 06, that was a blow because I was an Asst. Director and loved it but no worry I went back into another daycare after careful consideration, I was not going too but this has been my life now for 33years and there is nothing I would do but work with children.
I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a not sure idea. As it turns out, they were wrong.
I always get in my car and go for a ride and think about what I am going to do next..
My hero is my mom and grandmother without them I would not have made it to where I am today..
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is my grandmother,because because she was my inspiration .
NASCAR ALL THE WAY
My hero is my grandmother who passed away 29 yrs ago Memorial Weekend, she was everything to me and I sure miss her a lot and think about her everyday..
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have my water, my keys , and and granola bar to be able to deal with the day-to-day.
My best friend would tell you I'm a serious person, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as a well spoken person who speaks my mind when I have to.
