After high school graduation in 1960, I worked for the National Gypsum Company for about a year and then decided I wanted to travel. I joined the Air Force because their basic training was the farthest from Buffalo. I went to Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas and have traveled many places since then. When I moved to California in the early 70's, I became a Deputy Sheriff and worked in the law enforcement field until I retired in 1994. Then my husband, Ralph, and I moved to Sun City West, Az. For about the past 40 years or so, I thought my life was perfect; full of travel, adventure and fun. Unfortunately, in 2004, Ralph was diagnosed with colon cancer. After a three year illness, he died in January, 2008. Since that time my life has become quite dismal, and now, after over two years, I'm just now starting to pick up the pieces and begin to make a new life for myself.
