Finished NDHS 1982 and the rest is history. I joined the Navy to see the world and get out of Shreveport. Funny thing is, at times I would find myself so far away from home in the middle of only God knows where; I wish I was back there. I enjoyed my tour of duty of which I saw many foreign lands and a bit of action. (Persian Gulf 1982, Op Urgent Fury, Grenada in 83, Op Just Cause Panama, Dec 89 and Op Desert Shield, August 1990. Had the honor to try and be selected for Naval Special Operations. SEAL Team 3. (BUDS) Basic Underwater Demolition Class #147, (1986) HOOYAA! That alone was an experience in itself. Served on board the Aircraft Carrier Ranger CVA-61 which held approximately 5,000 men and 96 planes. F 14's, EA6B's, A7's, AWACS, and heilos for anti submarine warfare. Spent time on board Oceanographic Research Vessels off the coast of Russia and the North Pole as well as a few other things I cannot disclose. I would take nothing for the opportunity to have trained with one of the most ELITE & respected teams in the world. If I had it to do all over again, I wouldn't change one bit. Well, maybe just the fact that I should have retired.
