Alan's Story
Living the "wonderful life" 20 minutes north of Saddle Brook High School. Married and still lost in love to Kimberly (FLHS '71). Married in '74. Added two children and a son-in-law - Ashley ('83), Zachary ('91), Michael ('08) and three grandsons (Carter, Maclane and Collins).
An entire career in, and around information technology (except that time I lost my mind, and money trying to become an ice cream magnate}. I guess I'm officially considered retired now, spending time going between Jersey, Maryland and Florida. Music and photography remain a passion. Still drumming to In-A-Gada-Da-Vida, though, drum solo gets shorter each year. In 7th heaven whenever I get the chance to jam with others or or wandering around back roads in our roadster.
Best SBHS memories - Glee Club, JV Cross Country, Gym, toga parties, Friday Dances, playing to the crowd at SBHS, Friday night football home games, Latin, Biology, Chemistry, Geometry, off-Broadway theatre trips, first and last day of each school year, Sophomore English, any History class. The bowling club (not that bowling was fun - it was the people). Cafeteria's PB&J sandwiche...Expand for more
s and those flat crispy cookies. Typing Class (how the hell my mother knew this would be such an important skill later and throughout my life escapes me to this day - if only she had the same intuition when it came to me investing in ice cream!!!...)
And that stop on Bell Terrace where I could always warm up (and dry off a bit) on those cold and rainy mornings... Oh, what wonderful times they were...
To all of you that had the greatest influence - THANK YOU and GOD BLESS YOU!!!... Especially Mr. B, Ms. Basilo, Ms. Crabtree, Ms. Guffanti, Mr. Heider, Mr. Impomeni, Ms. Lomangino, Ms. Planska, Ms. Yaroz, Ms. Zanetti and the cafeteria ladies.
You may not remember me, but I'll never forget you!
And to Steve,
John M.,
"Ace",
Danny J.,
Bruce,
Gene (even if it was positive learning thru negative behavior),
Jim C,,
Bruce W.,
and the Shop-Rite Gang... Oh, the Shop Rite gang...
To all of you and the rest of the Class of '70 thanks for all the terrific memories. You all are indelibly etched in my mind and my heart.
I wish you only life's best!
"Peace of Mind"... happiness, good health and prosperity always!
