Donna's Story

Life Hello,My name is Donna Thompson,AKA Barker.I lived in Martinez Ga until I was 21 years of age where I started school at Martinez Elementry then to Bel-Air Jr High, and Evans High.I married a disc Jockey at W.G.U.S. radio now Lt. at Aiken Police dept named Gregory Stanford .We had 2 children (girls).I was friends with Linda Hayes,Cathy conner,Becky Mundy, and a few others I would love to talk to them again someday.I left Georgia To be with my Mom she had sold her house and moved to Ohio.Well things did not work out with my husband. I moved to ohio and met a guy named Stan Edgell we had a child (girl).he was in a car accident and not long after had passed away. I then said I will never marry again, but 10 years later I married Bob Barker and the price was right.LOL I now live in Zanesville Ohio where I raised my children a stay at home wife.I worked in nursing for 30 years. In 2002 I lost my oldest daughter Pamela Stanford Roberts you can visit her at Find a grave .com I have not been myself sense.I am just here. I have 2 dogs.I am glad that I moved to ohio to raise my children to get away from all the hussle and Bussel. I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that would be great career. As it turns out nursing is one of the most rewarding and satisfying jobs their is,besides being a mother. I love to relax in the fields looking for arrowheads.I dont think about anything else,It is awesome. The wildest thing I ever did in school well that would be I told vivian a friend to go and tell our P.T. teacher I had fainted so I could go home but when he ran up to me I was laughing my ao off.and Got expelled from school for having my skirt 7 inches above the knee and our dress code was 5 I think. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have patience, love, and control to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My hero is my Mom,what, where I would be I don't know..She helped me with my children all my mother's love and mine went to my children. She is still standing beside me Thank God for that. The one person from ...Expand for more
my past who I'd most like to see again is Linda Hayes, because We were best friends. I love ohio state football, My biggest surprise was when My daughter at the age of 29 was hit by a car.I lost my daughter oh my God what a nightmare and it continues to haunt me everyday of my life.I love her so much.and miss her beyound life. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my kitchen and add on a island. My dream home would be in t he country. I have learned not to take your kids for granet, tell them you love them every day kiss them every day. The teacher I would love to see again,Mr HAir,he was cool I guess for a teacher.Their was this teacher we had that if she got ahold of you Gee she would just shake you and shake you hell now you can sue for that kinda nonsense If I won $100 million, I'd give some of it to mom, then spend the rest on kids, chairty and myself. To be truly happy I would be living in my old house 238 pinhurst drive Martinez Ga,finding all my school buddies and catching up on old times I guess. My current age is 52. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be gross. I was so completely right lol. My first crush was a guy named Tom Lord he was a little older..But that was all it was a crush he took me to my basketball game about it. My best friend would tell you I'm crazy, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as fashionable. I share my home with Husband, which I find nerving. to get one do over, well that would have to be on 9-8-02 be at my daughter Pam's side all night to protect her. In 10 years, I hope to be 62. I'm going to get there by aging gracfully I hope. What would suprise everyone at my high school reunion,,I know this one If I was to be at one I guess. My first job was at J.M.Fields, where I got paid little to very little. What I remember most about it is payday. I will never forget riding bikes with a friend of mine her name was kathy moore she was ran over by one of those tar pressers on the road and she died in front of me I was devistated. She had a sister named Brenda.
