Deborah's Story
Life
12-23-05 I live in Fayetteville, NC now. The place is kind of like Chesapeake, but with a Portsmouth standard of living and an army based attached. My family moved out of town because my husband bought a business franchise.
I'm a housewife now (sigh), a mother of two (bigger sigh), and the keeper of a small zoo (collapses). We have two cats, one of which is the bitey sort. My son, who is five, has a rat and two bettas: Sharlin and, er, Mrs. Sharlin. My daughter, who's no more than two, wanted to name the first fish Sushi. (Honest, she knows what the stuff is; she's been eating japanese food since she could eat- she particularlly loves the pickled ginger.) When I asked her what to name the second fish, she replied, "eat it." We now steer her clear of the fish department of pet stores whenever possible. ga with me when he is home during the day. He used to think it was called Yoda (breathe deeply and resist the Dark Side), but has since corrected himself.
Martha Stewart is my lord and master, but I've had to slack off with the preparations for Christmas this year, due to the fact that at some point in the past two months all four of us have had one or more of the following: pneumonia, the flu, a mild cold, or a big nasty cold. As I type I'm currently recovering from the latter. The wreaths are unhung, the tree is undecorated, the presents are unwrapped, the cards are unsent, and the cookies are unbaked. Bah humbug and pass the Kleenex. Luckily, my husband will be getting home early tomorrow and will be able to help me scrape togeher the bare minimum of holiday cheer at the last minute (now there's the Debbie we all know and love).
Well that's it for now. I still have presents to buy before Sunday and tiny noses to wipe.
Debbie (who is still wondering if anyone insticively begins writing these things in the "Maury Paragraph" style)
