Kathleen's Story
Life
My maiden name is STEELE, and most people called me Kathy at that time; although I much prefer Kathleen now. I Graduated from Lancaster High School in Lancaster, NY in 1970. I retired from being the Executive Director of the Niagara Frontier Center for Independent Living , in Niagara Falls New York in June of 2006. I have two grown children, Mary Jo born in 1973 and Jeremy born in 1977. I did share my home with my best friend - Michael DeVinney in the Town of Tonawanda, although he went to heaven on June of 2007. In December of 2004 my daughter's fiance' died of brain cancer and she is now living with me.

m still very dedicated to disability rights, but need some time to "smell the roses". I also have a fairly significant fibromylagia, so between the MS and this, I have really slowed down.
In June of 2007, my beautiful Michael went on to heaven very suddenly. After this I took a part time job doing inside sales. The greatest part of this job is the flexibility. If I am too sick, they do not give me a difficult time OR I try to make it up.
I also have a beautiful granddaughter Mackenzie who was born on 1/9/06. If you are in the Village of Lancaster, she "works" at Carson's Jeweler's with my beautiful daughter-in-law - Lauren Pautler.
I am content with my life! I am much farther than I ever thought I would be and have experienced so much!
