Alan's Story

I guess some of you remember me when I worked as a Paramedic in the late 70's. That was something that sparked more of my interest in the medical field, and specifically acute care. After more school, and then, more school, and oh did I mention - more school, I have been practicing anesthesia for over 22 years now. Yes, I pass gas for a living. You can get paid for such a thing. Second marriage - over 20 years with this one (Angie) - and three boys (Richard, Tyler, and Max), I will be 51 years young this August. Boy, how time kicks you right between the eyes, then in the butt. I live in Lebanon. Most of my work is in Nashville, and in surgery center settings. I am licensed in 5 states (TN, KY, AL, SC, FL) and travel sometimes to other places when requested. I have been active in my church, coordinate teams and travel to Central America (specifically Honduras) to provide surgical mission work, and have been very active in Boy Scouts, until my youngest son received his Eagle Scout two years ago. Big on Titans and UT football - Vince Young is overrated - and praying for full scholarship to Knoxville for my youngest son (ACT 32 so far)- he is a senior at Friendship Christian this year. ill love the outdoors - hunting, fishing, gardening, etc. - so why did I get into a profession that keeps me indoors basically all the time - hmmmmmmmm - gotta pay the bills. Very, very, very conservative. I believe this government (+/-) is placing a financial weight on our kids and grandkids that will hinder their ability to succeed. And, any move toward socializing this nation needs to be met with as much resistance as possible from those who do the work and pay the bills (pay taxes). There is a reverse racism in play in Washington that is overshadowing the threats against us from foreign interests. Before these guys went into office, after they had to pay their back taxes, they started the plan to socialize our country - it is up to us to not let it happen. My dad always told me that a lot of hard work mixed with a little luck will go a long way in life. He is in a better place now. My mom is 91, had a stroke in January, and is living with us now. We are raising our neice, who just turned 12. I need a Valium...............only kidding. I hope all of you are well. We have lost some over the years, and life dictates that we will lose more in the near future. Keep in touch. Alan
