Carol's Story
Life
My name is Carol Foster (Watkins) I attended Harlan and graduated in 1966. I was very active in the drama club and the modern dance club. I was also an art major. I enjoyed my years at Harlan and have often thought about the friends I made there. I attended Hampton University and graduated in 1970. I majored in art and danced as well. I moved to Washington, DC and started teaching art. I also danced with the Capitol Ballet Company. I formed a young people's performing co. DC Youth Ensemble that has done remarkable things and is now over 25 yrs old. I now am married with 2 adult children. My daughter dances with several companies in NYC and has been in the New York Times. My son will finish college in NYC 2005. He is a...Expand for more
communications major (he needs a job by next year) he has interned for Universal Records (Motown) and RCN Productions (Reading Rainbow) RCN just hired him to be an assistant editor. He was also a theater major in HS. My husband had his own tutoring company then gave up fighting DC gov. to get $$ from contracts and went back to teaching he is now a physical education teacher for elementary students. I have three cats and still teach dance, art, and theater. God has been very good to me I have been deeply blessed in finding my calling early on. I have been able to touch the lives of thousands of children as they have touched mine. I am very humble and thankful for God to have been able to use me.
