Debbie's Story
Life
First the stuff most of you already know. I married in 1983, had 5 kids, then divorced, then remarried in 1991. My husband is Patrick and we have 8 wonderful children. Rachel's 24, Joel's 23, Luke's 22, Adam's 20, Seth's 19, Juliana's 16, Brooke's 15 and Hannah is 13. On November 5, 2004, one day after my birthday, Rachel and her husband Jeremy, gave us a beautiful grandson, GABE! It still feels a little funny calling myself grandmommy instead of mommy, but that's ok because he is such a wonderful little guy. We also now have a beautiful granddaughter, Laura Grace, who was born on December 5, 2005, 13 months exaclty after her big brother! And on May 21, 2008, we welcomed into our family yet another grandbaby, Alexandria Olivia Joy, but we will call her Lexi! This grandmommy thing is really the coolest thing! We have definitely been blessed! Joel graduated from Butler University majoring in chemistry, Luke is at Ball State University majoring in Instrumental and Vocal Music Education and is in the Ball State University Singers, an amazingly talented group ...Expand for more
of college students (You can google it and see his picture!) Adam decided college wasn't for him at this time, so he is working as a teachers aide at a local elementary school and is quite gifted with the group of special needs kids he works with. Seth graduated from high school this year and is living in Indy with Joel, going into the Electrician Apprentice Program at Ivy Tech, Juliana is in 11th grade, Brooke is in 10th and Hannah in 7th. All of them play instruments, and most are in choirs at school. They are all active in church and are just wonderful young adults and children. We live in New Castle, Indiana, which is still the boring capital of the USA, but it is a nice quiet place to raise the kids. Patrick and I have been married for 17 years and they have been the best years of my life. He is DAD to all the kids, not just our 3, and a wonderful man. I know that after all we went through during my first horrible marriage, we were all very blessed to have him come into our lives. God has blessed us all and we are thankful to Him for everything!
