Cary's Story

Hello to all of you! I miss my school days. Struggling with MS now. AIM me,(that is AOL Instant Messenger folks), my Buddy name is NUMACREW. For all my teachers, it might interest you to know I have a son going to Grad school at Purdue, he is a Chemist. He doesn't take after me at all! I am so proud of him! Life after High School was very good to me, if only I had been better to others. I worked as a field representative for a huge surveillance company (read 50% sneaky) and traveled to every corner of SC, NC and Tn. There is really a lot to see just a few miles from home. Traveled a little bit north of here also, but settled back into SC just in time to realize it was all getting too busy to suit me. I started and ran a security business for nearly ten years, then made a shift into the phone/data communications business, all the time still tied to the security industry somewhat, but no longer being awakened at all hours of the night with problem systems. In December of 2005, my MS kicked in, and by March of 2006 I could not walk without a cane. One year later and I could not wal...Expand for more
k without a walker. This is not much fun, let me assure you! Doctors listen very good, but there is very little that can be done for this disease. I am one of the fortunate ones though. I can still get around by myself most of the time, my vision is still pretty good, and I am not in much pain. I am very, very slow, and I cannot walk with anything in my hands because of balance. My sense of touch is very minimal in my fingertips, and they suffer from "dyslexia" when it comes to keyboarding. If you do AIM me, please be patient when I am answering, my typing was never very good, now it is much worse. Sorry to get into that. It may be the bright side though, you see, I worked in some pretty bad and dangerous places, and I loved it. I would still be there if it were not for this disease, and this may be God's way of taking me out of harms way. I believe that God has a reason for everything, we just aren't privy to what it is. As to the success of some of you, I am extremely happy for you! Just remember to stop and smell the roses and take time for those that are important to you. - Cary
