Glenda's Story
I often think about my high school days. They were some of my best times. Howeever, I am saddened that none of the high school friendships resulted in long term friendships. It seems that once people left Dayton, Tn/Carver High School, they didn't look back. I considered Wanda Terry and Alfreda Harbin as good friends. Yet I have not had any contact with them in well over 30 years. I don't even know where anyone lives any more. I have lived in Michigan for 40 years.
I retired from my bank job at one of the local banks where I served as Vice President and Personal Trust Administrator. After I retired, I travelled quite a bit. I have been or 4 or 5 cruises. I went to Africa, Paris, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Couzmel, Jamaica, St Thomas
St, Maarten, Virgin Islands and a few other places. My sister-in-law and my brother call me Ms. Travelosity. I love the name. I would love to go to Africa again and Paris again. I would also love to go to Greece,Rome, Venice and lots of other places. This year I may be going to London, England. I was just in Dayton for Christmas. I enjoyed spending time with my family. I have three adult children, one lives in Boston, Ma and is a Harvard University Grad, the other two live in Michigan. My youngest child (daughter) is in school and works for A T & T and my son is a therapist. I have 6 grandchildren ranging in age from 3 to 9.
I went back to work and I work for a cemetery where I am the manager. I prepare the financial reports plus work with families to make funeral arrangements. Sounds morbid. I also do volunteer work and I sing in my church choir where I hold the office of Choir president. I love shopping, traveling, movies and plays. I love to surf the net and spending time with friends. I am an old movie buff and I also enjoy western movies. I am single now and used to think I wanted to meet Mr. Right but I have come to the conclusion that he is just not out there. I am giving some thought to coming to the reunion this year but I have to check with my daughter to see if that is the same time we are to go to London, England.
I am in good health. I need to exercise more but who doesn't.
