Thomas J's Story
Life
Well, since I graduated in 1992, I had a choice. Buy a car or go to college. I bought my first car, a 1987 Firebird.. My first job was working at the local United Artists Theatres down the street. Then after two years, I attempted college at Clayton State College. I attended a year and was put on academic suspension when I failed to pass Math 99 on my THIRD attempt. I never did understand math..I never went back to college again.I did, however, begin playing tennis (since I looked like an exact clone of Andre Agassi..). I then worked at Camelot Music for 4 years and then Media Play for 7 years(2003). In 2001, My '87 Firebird was destroyed by my neighbor and I used up my eventual "moving out" money to upgrade to a 1998 Firebird. I have had two serious relationships since high school and each one ended in heart break for me. In my spare time, I film/edit/make video montages for friends and family..(Like for weddings, birthdays, retirements, special things like that..and I edit it all together to music and such). I had dreams of becoming a movie star, but I only achieved minor credits here and there.. the biggest was being listed in the credits of the E!True Hollywood Story:Jaws special from 2002. My name was on the same screen as Steven Spielberg.. nice. Speaking of my favorite movie, I visited Martha's Vineyard( where they filmed Jaws) in 2001 to see all the Jaws locations.. it was the happiest 4 days of my life. In February of 2007, I am currently the manager of Rack...Expand for more
Room Shoes(With the company for 2 years +) located at Southlake Mall in Morrow and living at home (due to a product of a 5 year relationship gone bad).. anyone want a roommate??
To those who thought I would be a star by now, I'm sorry I let you down.. but my dream is still alive..
..So if you are in Morrow, GA and you happen to see a silver '98 Firebird with a shark tooth hanging down from the rearview mirror.. with a Superman "S" license plate on the front..with the speakers playing 80's songs.. that's me.
College
I could pass Speech.. I could pass English.. and Psychology.. but the one thing I couldn't pass was Math 99.. and it lead to an academic suspension that ended my college life. When I look back, I think of the high priced books..the graphing calculators that cost a million.. and playing tennis on the college's courts..
Workplace
Got my first job at United Artists Theatres Cinema's 8 At Southlake (Thank you, Missy Hunt!). I started as an usher and left as a Relief Manager. Many fond memories there.. Doug Wood and Alan White, I miss you guys.. Then I worked at almost every store at Southlake Mall (Hallmark, Spencer Gifts, Camelot Music). Many GREAT memories at Camelot.. Mark Fuston was the best boss I ever had.. Then it was off to Media Play for the next 7 years of my life.. It was a better place to SHOP than to work at.. Then in 2005 I began working for Rack Room Shoes and worked my way up to Store Manager of the one at Southlake Mall in late 2006.
