After spending 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, my wife (Susan), daughter and I have settled in Kansas City, MO, where I worked for the state housing agency as their public relations officer for 10 years. I now work as a press officer with the U.S. EPA Region 7 headquarters in Lenexa, Kan.
My wife and I have now been married 34 years (June 17) and our daughter, 27, is teaching first grade in the Kansas City area..

t Whiteman. I was able to retrain into the public affairs career in 1979 and spent the next 17 years having a blast working with base newspapers, media relations, community relations, planning, troubleshooting and management. I was stationed at Whiteman AFB, Mo; Barksdale AFB, La; Andersen AFB, Guam; McConnell AFB, Kan.; and Headquarters SAC/Strategic Command at Offutt AFB, Neb.
While in the Air Force I completed my bachelor's degree in communications and gained my Accredited in Public Relations (APR) professional accreditation through the Public Relations Society of America. After 1985, I never considered any other field than public affairs/public information/public relations.
