Life
Hi Friends and Former Classmates:
Life has been good to me, although I have had my share of ups and downs. After moving from Temple to Arlington, TX in '73, I graduated early from Lamar H.S. in '76. I went to UTA for a couple of years and then down to Austin. Those were wonderful years. I learned a lot on and off of the college campus. I made life long friends and really learned who I was as a person. I had thought that I might go on to law school, but found that I had more of a social worker mentality. Each job that I had in the field of social work prepared me for the next one, until ultimately I became the State Director in charge of Suspected Child Abuse & Neglect for the State of Arkansas. What an honor! Only one job was more important to me than that one, and that was to become a parent. Finally, in 1994, I became the proud parent of a healthy baby boy. Then, God blessed us with another baby boy in 1998. While most of my friends were attending their children's graduation and wedding ceremonies, I was changing diapers. Parenting has been the toughest and most rewarding job that I have...Expand for more
had, and I am glad that I waited until I did to start it. I appreciate every moment, and besides, when people see me with these young boys they think I am younger than I am. Now that is a perk these day~!
Classmates.com has been a wonderful way to reconnect with so many that I haven't seen or heard from in decades. If you recognize my name and face from years gone by, feel free to email me. I would love to hear from you and know how your life has been. Life really is too short to stand on formalities. I was so shy in high school, more so because we had just moved to Arlington from Temple, Texas when I started at Lamar H.S. and everyone else seemed to have bonds of friendship established from Nichols Jr. High. Anyway, a sweet and beautiful girl named Kay Cunningham befriended me. God bless her~! She was killed in an accident a year after graduation. I have never wanted anything, such as shyness or fear of looking foolish to others, to stand in my way of reaching out to others since that time. Don't let anything stop you either~! God bless you all and I hope to see you at the next reunion~!!! Ann
