Terry's Story
Life
Hi! Some of you might remember me. My school name was Terry Wilson. I am actually a Wofford Heights native because I was born in the old hospital in Wofford Heights which is now the Burlington. I lived my first 3 years at Borel Edison housing then we moved to KR #3 edison housing Kernville. We then moved to our ranch near Fairview and I attended Johnsondale Elementary from 1st grade through 3rd grade. We moved back to KR #3 edison housing and I started Woodrow Wallace Elementary in 4th grade. I graduated from Woodrow Wallace and started Kern Valley High School. I attended Kern Valley until 2 months into my senior year and my Dad transferred with his job with Edison to Three Rivers, Ca. Very devastating at the time. My whole life and friends were in the Kern River Valley. I finished High School at Woodlake High in Woodlake, Ca.(near Visalia). I have been married now (2nd time) to Gilbert Vega for almost 24 years (24 years in December,08'). I still live in the Valley. I moved away for a few years but always wanted to come back. State University at Monterey Bay. All three of our children (2 previous) have graduated from K.V. Hi. and are doing well. Our oldest Tanya, is a Supt. of schools nurse with a lot of territory to cover in Kern County. Our second daughter, Tammy, is a special education teacher at Woodrow Wallace Elem. We have a concrete business (16 years now). I worked in bookkeeping and taxes for 16 years, and quit to take care of our business books. There is actually quite a few alumni still here in the valley. It's always nice to run into them every so often. I will always remember my years at K.V. High and cherish old friendships. I adjusted to Woodlake High and have some good memories from there too. Chris Giacomini(like a sister), Chuck Sanfilipo, Jerry North, Dana Whited, Les(? forgot last name).I was kind of a wallflower(pretty shy)back then, but it was a lot of fun. My wonderful friends from Kern Valley High Linda Baker, Pam Williams, Nancy Stroud, Debbie Phillips, Kristy Green, Susie Tuttle, Carol Goodman, Yvette Green,Lisa Moss, Cheryl Lally, Sandy Milligan, just to name a few.
