Linda's Story
Life
10 year alumni? No way. I'm still a kid!!! I think I made my dream of one day being a nurse pretty well known in High School. Well, I got as far as a Nurse's Aide but the every other weekend was not working for my husband (yeah that long-haired hippie, Chad) who took care of our infant twin sons on the weekends I worked.
We bought a home in Lebanon, Maine in 1997 and I began caring for children. At first I was thinking that it would be VERY temporary, that I would only do it untill I could go back to school. But, I found that I loved working with the children and especially teaching pre-school. I have found the Fountain of Youth! So, chuck the nurse dream!!!
Chad and I celebrated 10 years of marriage in July '05. He's been working with me running our childcare. He's great with the kids! He's kind of in perpetual gym class with them. Chad is also dilligently...Expand for more
working on his Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. When he finishes this (perhaps within the next two years), I will begin my education, with the goal of a Bachelor's Degree in Education & Psychology. We also intend to move this business to a location where I can have a building that is separate from my home to run my business in.
My twins are the only kids we've got. They are 10, happy and healthy and doing very well in school. I've got 2 dogs, one is a hound/shepard mix and the other a Boxer. I also have two cats, two birds and a 30 gallon fish tank. Hey, what can I say, I was raised on a farm! I'd have a horse too, if I could fit it in my little 1/3 of an acre yard! But I think that would make outdoor play more messy. ;^)
