Joan's Story

June 2011 Oh my my!!!! Had my 5th granbaby on the summer solstice!!! Broderick (Brody) Steven Clark!! Wow, 5 granbabies under the age of 5! I've been told this was the last, but we shall see!! I am blessed. July 2010 Hooray!! My 4th granbaby has arrived on earth!!! Her name is Julia Kaye Holmes and she is a beauty! I am a proud Mooma! Life Time for an update! It's the end of 2009. As usual I ask, where has the time gone? My boys returned safely from Iraq and I hope never to return to the middle east. I have 2 granddaughters and a grandson with another on the way! I've given up my wanderin ways and have settled to live my life in Colorado with my children and granbabies. Will miss the road, but have enjoyed the ride. I think the best is yet to come. Watching those babies grow is one of the most satisfying parts of my life. I live in Longmont CO out in the country, but not far from family. Every day is a gift! My life is very, very good. As always in my life, big changes have taken place. It is 2007 and I am living in Colorado once again. My daughter Savannah is expecting her first child in December and my son is expecting his second child in January. My husband , Grover, is in Baghdad and my son is also in Baghdad. These are tough times, but I am with my girls and keeping busy with life. I am proud of my boys. The duty and sacrifice my ...Expand for more
boys have made for their country is my greatest source of solace and pride. My son, Cleve and son in law, Josh have done two tours in Iraq. Now my husband has had a calling to go to this war zone to help as best he can. I am truly blessed to have these remarkable people in my life. I have two new lives coming very soon. Yes, hard times and good times, such is life! This is 2005 bio. I have retired from my school job. My children have both married and moved away. My husband works for the government and travels 3 weeks out of a month. I was left with an "empty nest". We decided to sell our home, buy a RV and travel! My daughter, Savannah, had moved to San Diego because her husband is a Marine. He was sent to Iraq, so I packed the RV and headed out of Colorado to the pacific ocean. We had a wonderful time together in southern California. My son-in-law returned safely from Iraq. I now live in Pahrump Nevada, 50 miles from Vegas. My son, Cleveland, is expecting my first grandchild. I will travel back to Gunnison Colorado to help out. I am so excited for this new role as grandmama. Being able to travel is soothing to my gypsy soul. Don't know what's down the road, but I'm looking for new adventures and new friends. Hope whomever reads this will contact me. I have the fondest of memories from my time at Northside and wonder what happened to my friends.
