Michelle's Story
Life
I was married April 9, 1992 and acquired an instant family! My husband had full custody of our three kids - then 7 and 9. Yes, the younger ones are twins (I am not crazy). The older one is only 17 months older than they are, something I myself would not have done!!!! I do not have kids of my own, but I raised the three that I married into. They are now 22 and 24! I have 3 pugs, a rottie and a Heinz 57 someone dumped off at my school. These are now my children, and I love them!!!
School
School was a blur, especially Seminole, as I had to work so hard after leaving Community Christian. I just had to graduate!!! Band brings back fond memories though! Teachers names do not readily come to me anymore, though I do remember Ms. Shaunessy and watching "The Fall of the House of Usher" in 11th grade Lit (I still love Poe). I also remember all of Coach's help in what was it?? History maybe?!?! I hope my name stays with my kids longer than my teacher's names have stayed with me!
College
College - gee which one?!?!? It took me a little while to get my focus and my wits about me. I thought I would like to be a psychologist, but that took too long; then it was...Expand for more
a pharmacist, but that required a lot of science. So, guess what - I still spent 8 years getting my undergrad in education - the one thing I always said I would never be. And guess what??? I teach math (my absolute worst subject in high school) and science (why was it that I didn't want to be a pharmacist???).
Now, I have a Master's along with a Leadership add-on and plan to go back starting next summer for my EdS. My husband would love for me to get my PhD, but I am not so sure!!! By the way, I breezed right through my master's program.
Workplace
Well, I started out cashiering at Eckerd's (or Revco/Rite Aid/CVS) what ever the case may currently be. When I moved to GA, I moved to the Pharmacy as a tech. I loved working in the pharmacy. I worked for my father-in-law (though he wasn't at the time) as a parts driver, and also sold CUTCO cutlery. While I was getting my undergrad, I taught K-4 at Grace Christian Academy. I was there for 8 years. I decided that I needed more money then and moved to public education. One day, I aspire to be a principal and mave even work for the Department of Ed!
Military
Probably should have joined, but sent my boys instead!
