Louise's Story

Life Graduation. Moved to IN at 18. Child at age 19. Not married...what a scandal THEN (look at today's world). Married, worked in a factory. Divorced. Remarried the same guy. Had 2nd child. Divorced. Married a friend...should have kept it friends...divorced. Now I'm single and can't imagine getting married again. Altho I am in a committed relationship..after all, I'm 60 years of age. Work in an accounting office.....same one for over 20 years now. Am considered a partner. Without the bosses I have, life would be very difficult. We are one big "family"..small town. My 2 sons are both married and I am a grandma to 6 children. But they live away from me, so I don't see them that often. Which is OK. I have come a long way since I left home. But I never went back....except to visit. Through my boss, I have a share in a liquor store, which I hope will see me into my retirement.Though I don't...Expand for more
plan on retiring. We have a joke at our office (there are 3 of us "older" ladies). The only way I'm gonna retire is when they carry me feet first out the door. Just lately found out I'm a "candidate" for that bone disease "osteo..." so now we 3 older ladies belong to a workout club called "Curves"..3 nights a week for half hour of weight resistant exercise, and I'm keeping my calcium intake to a max. My mom is 92 and in a nursing home. I don't want to end up like that. Praise the Lord, I won't. On warm sunny spring(summer) days, my guy has a motorcycle. And I ride behind him...never wanted to learn to drive it. We've been to MT to see his son (not on the cycle) and to WI to see his daughter. My life is full and complete. Not something I thought would be, when I was young and foolish. Now I'm older and not quite so foolish. I thank God every day that I am where I am and "have" what I have.
