James's Story
Life
I have settled down with my children in Kentucky. The weather is really mild here most of the time. The winters are very short. Lots of time to be outdoors and enjoy nature.
Watching my kids grow up and participating with Football, wrestling, soccer, cheerleading, boy scouts, girl scouts, and all the neighborhood kids keeps me young. I am hoping that sharing my life experiences and being more patient with my kids makes them better adults.
I ended up marrying my best freinds sister. (Second marriage for both of us), I believe this has helped us both be more understanding and caring with each other and our children. We have both experienced an unexpected setbacks and have committed our lives to each other.
Our family is doing great, enjoying life and keeping busy.

New York & Joined the Army Reserves (because my freind got my name as a recruiter) and was stationed at Mattydale, NY with 3/389th until being reassigned as First Sergeant to Utica, NY.
I Also worked as a Drill Sgt Recruiter (DSCIP) and Served as the 98th Division Combat Rifle Team Captain & Coach from about 1987 - 1991 (when funding was cut) If anyone remembers the PAWS program, Contact me!
Reassigned as CSM for the 403rd Civil Affairs Battalion and then transferred to the 1287th Logistic Support Battalion at Fort Knox.
Retired in May 2004 from the 4th Brigade after serving as Logistics Command Sergeant Major for the Support Battalion.
I really enjoed my time in the Military. I hope to write a book on the adventures, trials, and tribulations of my assignments some day.
I hope that the lives that I touched, Soldiers that I trained and young people that I recruited remember the lessons and example presented. I was never very good with names, but it seems like every day I meet another soldier that served with me, was recruited through me, or was trained by my Drill Sergeants and Instructors.
The best of luck to you and yours. I am always here for those that need a mentor. If you feel you need guidance, advice, or counselling from some OLD ARMY GUY, give me a shout.
