Mary's Story
Life
I've had a great life, and plan to continue for decades.
I worked for the State for 38 years and recently retired. I wasn't stagnant, I was promoted 6 times.
Although I was engaged several times I could never go through with it until I met Bob Hoemke.
Three weeks after we were engaged I discovered I had breast cancer and had to have a mastectomy. Of course I wanted to break up with Bob, but he wouldn't hear of it. So 7 months later we were married on 6/21/85. He is wonderful.
At 24 I was told I would never be able to have children, so when I went to the Dr 6 months after my wedding thinking I may have cancer again I was elated to discover that I was pregnant.

/1/86. Our miracle of pure joy. I was 40, Bob was 36 and we have been incredibly happy ever since.
I volunteered for Reach to Recovery for the Cancer society for years until funding was cut for the hospital visits to women undergoing mastectomy or lumpectomies due to cancer.
I plan to do some volunteering at a hospital soon.
Currently I work as a part time leasing agent for Bellaire Properties primarily at Canabury Hill, Grand Pre' East, Hill Plaza or Executive Suites. Great job.
My husband is still working full time. Our son is beginning his senior year at Roseville Area High School. Matthew is an actor and has been in many films, commercials or advertisments. He truly is a gift from God.
