Workplace
A bout with mono curtailed my start of college, so I hit the sidewalks of downtown Memphis trying to find my nitch. After a brief stint at a bank, I ended up working 9 years at a non-profit service agency. A change in management dictated that a change in employment was in the air so I moved on to city government - 2 years was plenty! I lucked into a position with a cookbook printing company and enjoyed 2 years until the birth of my first child. Then I tried being a stay at home mom with word processing at home as a side job. d typed numerous college term papers and resumes for friends and strangers. Another child showed up on the scene prompting another home job (back with the non-profit)doing night and weekend case work along with another part time job at another non-proft organization that children could tag along. When the third child arrived, I switched from the non profit positions to a pediatrician's office and am still in their employ at this time. I also volunteered with a food distribution service for about 4 years. I currently volunteer at my children's school - guess where? Frayser Academy!
