Life
After high school graduation, I headed to ISU for undergrad and grad studies in English. I thought I'd become a professor or something, but the whole poverty thing really got to me (you can live only on student loans for so long), so I left for Chicago to enter the "real" workforce. While at one of those "real" jobs, I fell in love with a guy who, as luck would have it, was moving to San Diego in 6 months. After 3 months without him, I realized I had to follow my heart. . . re still in love, and though slow to tie the knot, we'll be married within the next few months.
Workplace
For the last 7 - 8 years, I've been involved in clinical research and pharmaceuticals. I'm not a research scientist (though it's an admirable field), but I handle a lot of the operations associated with research. I've recently switched from working for a large company (Pfizer), to a smaller company, which is much less "corporate" and honestly, more fun. I'v even switched from operations to technical writing, where I'm actually using my blasted degrees!
