Cathy's Story

Well... since high school... I received my bachelor's degree from UGA, then my Master's and Specialist's degrees from GSU. I began teaching at NorthSprings High School in Dunwoody, but being only 21 and teaching kids who were 19, was tough, to say the least. After one year of that, I moved down the street to Sandy Springs Middle School where I taught until I married and moved to Japan for three very long years. The one good thing that happened there is that I had my "made in japan" son, Chris, who was born in '88. We moved back to Atlanta after the tour and soon moved out to Canton. I taught in Cherokee county, Cobb county, and finally back in Fulton county teaching math and science and running the Gifted Education dept at Northwestern Middle School. I also had my daughter, Megan, in '92. My parents had moved to Searcy, Ar, in the mean time, and I wanted to move there too, so we took Chris, and Megan and moved to Searcy. the house we had owned for 6 weeks, and moved to happier fields of green. By Christmas of '99, I married my 6th grade admirer, Eric, (the BEST move I have ever made) and his two kids (both of our boys the same age and both of our girls the same age) and my two kids made a very busy "Brady Bunch". Because Eric was still in the Marine Corps, we had to move to North Carolina for his last three of twenty years, and now we are back in Searcy. Alex (Eric's son) is now in the Air Force, stationed in South Dakoto; Chris is a freshman at Harding University, but is thinking seriously of joining the military too. Megan and Brittany (Eric's) are 10th graders in high school - both beautiful, both cheerleaders, and Megan also does competitive cheer, softball, track, and basketball! And while all of this is going on, Eric is working on his MBA!!!!! yes, we are busy, busy, but so, so , so, so happy! Would love to catch up with you guys - shoot me a line sometime!
