Denise's Story
Where have the years gone? I married John Hayes 4 months before graduation (crazy love sick kid). We have lived in Turkey and Nebraska (with the military);
Highland, Ca for 17 years and currently living in Running Springs for the past 17 years. We moved back to the mountains after being gone 20 years. The mountains and trees have a serene effect on me and I have been much happier .
We raised 4 daughters and a son and all have degrees (which is more than I can say for myself). We have 8 grandchildren but they live in Oregon, Texas, Utah and Huntington Beach, CA. I love spending time with the little ones (they will grow older too unfortunately).
John just passed away from brain cancer, Nov 30,2007. The past 2 years have been tough. It will probably take at least a year for my body to recover from all the stress. Looking back over the...Expand for more
past years, They have been good (yes we had our ups and downs but over all I would not have change a thing).
I have been working for the post office for 20 years. The earliest I can retire is Aug 2010. I hope I can but also be able to keep our home (it's not paid for yet); and afford to fly to see our grandchildren (such JOY they give me). Our family and our relationship with others is all that really matter!
Life is a journey with many experiences along the way. I have always tried to do and be the best possible person I can , in all situations! Remember to SMILE! It is catching!!!! Denise Jones Hayes
Harold Jones lost his wife in March 2009. We were married in Running Springs in Jan 2010. We have 7 Children and 20 grandchildren between us. Thank goodness we love to travel ... Either to see the grandchildren or just for fun!
