Patricia's Story

UPDATE JANUARY 8, 2013 - TUMBACO, ECUADOR Hello Friends: Greetings from very HOT Tumbaco. It is very unusual for us to have such heat and high winds this time of year but such is our lot. We hope to have the rainy season return soon, but then we'll complaln about the cold and dampness! 4 years have past since I wrote the story that follows. Not much has changed. Still no grandkids. Michelle is a stewardess on AEROGAL, and that gives us some flying advantages! Marisa moved back to Tumbaco and presently has a Beauty salon-Spa here in town. Mike visited us for the first time in 9 years. He was overwhelmed by the changes. Our congregation continues to grow and our school now has 250 students, Our first 6th grade class will graduate this year and leave us to go on to high school. We must look for another place for the school as we have outgrown our present location. I was able to make it to the 40th Class reunion in 2010; it was great seeing old friends, though I didn't have that many, being a "new kid" on the block. I was reminded how much other classmates had grown up together, as I listened to their stories about grade and middle school. However, WB was where I graduated and it was fun working with different ones during our junior and senior year. I still want to extend a standing invitation to whomever would like to visit this beautiful country. There is so much to see. And you can save oodles of money staying at our house. We have 3 EMPTY bedrooms available (depending how many guests we have). We have had up to 33 people stay at our house. Consider the next Soccer World Cup in Brasil. Stop by! Look me up on fb. Bendiciones! ----------------------------------- Hi people fm all the hallways of this life. I´m living...Expand for more
in beautiful Ecuador and call it home since 1973, with a couple of stints back stateside though not regularly. I have been married to my Venezuelan lover and best friend, Miguel Daza, for 32 years, and have been a missionary for the past 36 years. Presently am a teacher (co-founder and principal) of a Christian School in Tumbaco, Ecuador! My life's dream came true! The Lord has been good to us! We have 4 children: Muriel (w/Jesus 1994), Marisa (27), Mike (24) and Michelle (21). No grandkids yet. Michelle married Maykol Grefa (pronounced Michael) a native from the highland jungles on Jan 1st, 2009 and both are passionate about music. Our son, Mike, is still single, living and working in Hagerstown, Maryland. Marisa has a gym in Tena, the highland jungle, with a great demand for aerobics, pilates, mixed with spa benefits. (Incredible!) My folks are doing well, still at the house on Lee Crest in West Bloomfield, and within the vicinity are Jean and Letty. Joanne lives in Milwaukee, Rita has made Texas her home! I'm a student for life! I´m STILL in college working on this 3rd degree but I´m losing steam! Miguel and I are the Senior Pastors of "Iglesia el Sendero de la Cruz" and work for the Kingdom Above! Got saved in 1972 and haven't lost the fire to serve Jesus. He means everything to me! It did me good to go to VBS with the Smiths on Lamphere every summer! We love having visitors. My niece, Lauren Foukes, is living with us for six months. We hope more friends will take advantage of our location! We're just 10 miles east of Quito. Have a blessed day and remember to thank the Designer of Life, the Lord God of Israel, for His tender mercies and faithfulness to all generations! Bendiciones! Patti Garretson-Daza Dec. 9, 2009
