Bernadette's Story
Life
Some things do not change. I still laugh a bunch (mostly at myself) and keep my surroundings drama free. I am blessed by the number of folks who grew up with my kids who still consider my home the place to be. We are passing the Sunday Night Supper tradition down to my Grandson and his friends. Life is good!
My Job - Updated
Still extremely satisfying. There is a good feeling about being involved and making a positive difference in the lives of the children in the care of the state who make it to our Agency. Out of boredom, I created the Human Resources Department. Within the next five years, I will probably "retire" and focus my energy on volunteering my services wherever they are most needed.

r than working full time and retired in early April 2017. The party that they threw for me knocked my socks off and left me speechless. In addition to current and former employees, some Board Members and favorite Vendors also attended. Our Executive Director barbecued a wide variety of meat and Staff provided the rest of the fixings. The President of the Board presented me with a plaque which acknowledged my service to the agency and included the notation that I was the only Staff person who never received a citation from the State. The following week, my kids threw a Retirement/Birthday party for me. Life is good and I feel Blessed!
Play Time
Learned about the joy of cruising last May and have already booked the next one for April. What a way to go!!
