Joseph's Story
Life
Well, here it goes... It's been 20 years since high school, 10 since I last saw some of my classmates at our 10th year reunion. A lot has happened for me since then...
First, I made a move I never thought I'd make, but was glad I did. After graduating in '89 from Fredonia, I lived in Washington, DC until 1999. That's when my TV sportscasting career took me back home to "the Roc"! As some of you may have noticed, I served a little over 3 years as a sports anchor/reporter at R News in Rochester (99-03). I made a number of close friends, some of whom went to school with us. Does anyone remember Sammy Pisano and Randy Scheuch?
Sam remembers all the losing seasons we had as football teammates, but we were both psyched to hear about the Lancers Championship this past season. It took the Red Sox 86 years to win the series and Eastridge 23 to win a High School Football Title. Way to go, guys!
In case you're wondering, I'm married and without children, although that will change in the next year or two. While I was in Washington, I dated a southern girl named Kathy for about 5 and a half years and we ...Expand for more
got hitched in 2002. She moved to New York and worked for 2 years in Rochester, but was unfortunately laid off just after our wedding. With the economy the way it was, we felt it was best to return to D.C., where her family and my brother live. Vince, by the way, is a 1973 graduate of Eastridge and can still outrun me in the 40 yard dash! Vinny (AKA "the Italian Stallion"), still holds the Lancers' record in the quarter mile, 32 years after high-tailing it out of town to become a lobbyist.
Currently, I'm Vice President of Sales and Marketing for a courier company in Northern Virginia. Traffic is dreadful, but it's good to be back in the BIG city! As for my TV career, it's on hold now, but hopefully not for long... Recently, I spoke to some contacts of mine at ESPN and applied to work at their new all-college sports network, ESPNU.
Feel free to send an e-mail and I'll respond. I'm still pondering a visit for my 20th year reunion. I haven't heard if the '85 class is having one or if we're going to wait 'til 25. If anyone has info, please let me know and BEST OF LUCK to all!
