Megan's Story
WOW - where to start. Life after Gridley H.S. was interesting. I went to college but wasn't disciplined enough to finish. I thought working was the better way to go. I've changed a lot since high school. I'm not the shy introvert anymore.
I stayed single and very independent til I was 38 yrs. old when I met the love of my life, Paul. We married in 2001 just after 911. Paul is from Rockford and left his job of 23 years to come be with me in Bloomington (what a sweetheart!!). We bought a house and started our "family".
I work for NuWay Transportation as the Warehouse Coordinator and have been with them for 10 years. I share management duties with a gentleman from Secor that I knew from high school (Tony Turner). Paul works for Heritage Enterprises in maintenance. Heritage owns several nursing homes throughout Illinois. Paul maintains the corporate office in downtown Bloomington.
As you can tell by our picture - the "family" is our dogs. We are totally committed to speaking for animals that cannot speak for themselves. We eat, sleep and breathe dogs. I thought my life would never be complete until I had children - I was so, soooooooo wrong. God gave me the children I needed - and those children are the ones with 4 legs.
Paul and I are so incredibly happy with our lives. We have struggles just like everyone else but look forward to working through those challenges.
I look forward to hearing from some old classmates. Unfortuantely, I've never been able to attend a reunion due to extenuating circumstances. Hope to reconnect with some old friends.
