Marcia's Story
I was always horse crazy and skipped school alot to ride my horse or play cards in the girls bathroom. I was not part of the Most popular crowd. I had a few select friends I paled around with on occassion. I socialized with Linda Kita, Kathy Havens, Dian Reeves
Dwayne Solomon, Linda Murray, Ken Duval and Mike Doser, though those 2 had quit school by then. It sure is hard to remember all the names these days. I quit school to get married but backed out and left for the thoroughbred racing circuit. I worked on the track as a pony girl then owner and assistant trainer for 12 years from New England to Kentucky to Florida where I met my husband , a Canadian jockey. We had 1 daughter who is now 33 yrs old. I have spent my whole life with animals, working for vets, saddlery repair, and lastly the Sheriff's Dept. Animal Control as a Field Officer from which I am now retired and remarried.
I am also of Native American descent and am active in my tribe and am an activist for native issues.
I do alot of native craft work, read and play on the computer
I don't like sports but watch alot of syfy channel,NCIS,Ghost Whisperer and Criminal Minds
I've learned miracles do happen as my daughter who was once a very troubled teen is now a woman to be proud of in every way
If I won $100 million, I'd give some of it of it to needy tribes, then spend the rest on family, friends and save some for me.
I don't much care for currant fashions, I dress in what is comfortable and looks best on me.

w gun competition in the Animal Control Olympics.
When our babysitter taught me how to care for and ride her horse it started a live long dream and career for as a horse owner myself and the race track later in life as a pony girl then owner and assistant trainer to 14 head of thoroughbreds.
I moved back to Florida after spending 5 years in Quebec with my jockey husband, moved back to NY after we seperated and then back to Florida where I spent a great deal of time during my race track days. I have lived down here steady since 1983. I managed an egg farm for 5 years, had more horses, bought a doublewide mobile home on 1.3 acres and kept my horses there until my last boy had to be put down at age 30 in 2001. I now have a new boy since 2012 and he is the one in the picture. We do parades, trail rides. I sold my mobile home and remarried and our property is big enough to keep a horse so i am back in business riding at almost 65 years old. I am handy with tools and do alot of home repairs, remodeling while hubby is at work, I also make sterling silver and gemstone jewelry and have a website at etsy.com /floridacreek /shop. I am now 69, have a pony and 2 horses. My parade boy spooked and threw me on a neighborhood ride in March in which I broke my neck, back ribs, nose and a concussion. I doubt if I will ever be able to ride again with a fused back. Still healing and in a brace. So now I will have 3 yard ornaments to care for. I can't bare the thought of selling any of them. I keep my fur babies until they die.
